Oran Port Reaches a New Milestone in its Modernization!

  • EPO Communication

As part of the strategy of the Ministry of the Interior, Local Collectivities and Transport aimed at modernising the infrastructure of commercial ports and strengthening their operational capacities in line with the highest international standards, the Port of Oran Authority has embarked on a process of upgrading its container handling fleet. In this context, five new Cavalier Gerber machines from the global manufacturer SANY were delivered today, with the aim of increasing the efficiency of loading and unloading operations and improving traffic flow within the terminal. This batch includes: • Three machines with a lifting capacity of up to three levels plus one, enabling the efficient handling of larger containers. • Two machines with a lifting capacity of one level plus one, primarily intended for fast and precise operations within the docks. This investment is an important step in the development of the institution's performance, as it will contribute to:

  • Enhancing the port's operational capacity
  • Reducing container processing time
  • Improving the competitiveness of services provided to customers and economic partners
The institution affirms that it is continuing to implement its strategic plan based on:
  • Modernising facilities
  • Digitising operations
  • Enhancing handling equipment
This will make the port of Oran a hub in the national and regional logistics chain.
